Pick-Up
Your adventure begins with an early pick-up from your designated location in Nairobi CBD at 6:00 am. A comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle will be ready to transport you, accompanied by one of our experienced Twende Tours guides, who will ensure you’re well-prepared for the day ahead. Your guide will provide a brief orientation on safety protocols and share exciting insights into what to expect during your safari.
You’ll be treated to a scenic drive as you make your way to Nairobi National Park, which is just a short distance from the city, offering the unique experience of a wildlife safari so close to an urban center.
Safari Experience
From 7:00 am to 12:00 pm, we dive into the heart of the safari adventure. This morning, your guide will take you on a game drive through Nairobi National Park, where you’ll encounter a diverse array of wildlife against the stunning backdrop of Nairobi’s skyline. Despite being in close proximity to the city, the park is home to a variety of animals including lions, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and over 400 bird species. Your safari will explore the park’s different habitats, from the wide-open savannas to acacia woodlands, offering a full range of wildlife sightings.
Morning Highlights
Visit the Savanna Plains, where herds of zebras and antelope roam freely.
- Spot lions lounging in the early morning sun or stalking their prey in the grasslands.
- Admire giraffes gracefully moving through the park and enjoy unique close-up encounters.
- Watch flocks of eagles, bustards, and other bird species in the park’s wetlands.
Your guide will share fascinating facts about the flora and fauna of the park, making sure every moment is enriching. Throughout the experience, feel free to ask questions and get personalized insights into the local wildlife and conservation efforts.
Optional Add-ons (depending on availability)
To further enhance your experience, you have the option of adding a visit to the Nairobi Animal Orphanage or a Giraffe Centre visit.
The Nairobi Animal Orphanage is home to orphaned or injured animals being rehabilitated for release back into the wild. The Giraffe Centre allows visitors to get close to the endangered Rothschild giraffes, feeding them and learning more about conservation efforts.
