Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara – Arrival and Introductory Game Drive
Your TWENDE TOURS adventure begins with a pick-up from your residence in Nairobi. From here, you’ll embark on a scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley, making a brief stop at the Rift Valley viewpoint for spectacular photos of the escarpment.
Arriving at Masai Mara National Reserve, you’ll check in at your lodge or camp and then embark on an introductory game drive. The Mara is world-renowned for the annual Wildebeest Migration, where millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles cross the Mara River in search of greener pastures. Spend the evening spotting some of the Big 5—Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo, and Rhino—before returning to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive – Wildebeest Migration Experience
After an early breakfast, head out for a full-day game drive. The Wildebeest Migration is the highlight of the year, as thousands of wildebeests make their dramatic crossing of the Mara River, often with crocodiles lurking in the waters. You’ll witness one of nature’s most incredible spectacles. Alongside the migration, you’ll also encounter predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas—all vying for their share of the feast. Enjoy a packed lunch at a strategic point overlooking the Mara River, where you might see the migration in action.
In the afternoon, continue exploring the vast plains and witness the extraordinary diversity of wildlife that makes Masai Mara one of the most famous reserves in Africa. Return to your lodge for dinner and a well-deserved rest.
Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Departure to Nairobi
Start your day with an early morning game drive to catch the animals in their most active hours. With the stunning backdrop of the Mara, you may witness the predators hunting or catch a glimpse of the wildebeests grazing before their long migration journey. After breakfast at your lodge, check out and begin the scenic drive back to Nairobi, with a picnic lunch on the way.
In Nairobi, you’ll be dropped off at your location of choice, bringing your TWENDE TOURS Wildebeest Migration adventure to a close.
