Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Approximately 18km – Drive time: ~1 hour (depending on traffic)
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, a warm Twende Tours representative will be there to receive and welcome you to Kenya. You’ll be transferred to your hotel in the heart of the city — the elegant Sarova Stanley Hotel — where you’ll check in and settle in. Later, you’ll be briefed on your upcoming safari adventure. Relax and enjoy your evening in Nairobi. You are booked on bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru National Park

Approximately 170km – Drive time: ~3.5 hours (depending on traffic)
After an early breakfast, depart Nairobi and enjoy a scenic drive down the Great Rift Valley, with a short stop at the famous viewpoint for photos. Continue to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch and check-in at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive. Lake Nakuru is known for its seasonal flamingos, white and black rhinos, and the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe. It’s also home to lions, leopards, and over 400 bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara National Reserve

Approximately 270km – Drive time: ~6 hours
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before departing for the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya’s most iconic safari destination. Arrive at the luxurious Emayian Luxury Camp just in time for lunch and check-in. Later, embark on an afternoon game drive across the vast savannahs of the Mara. Keep your eyes open for lions, elephants, cheetahs, and other wildlife that roam freely. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Full Day in Masai Mara

After an early breakfast, set out with a packed lunch for a full-day game drive in the reserve. Explore different areas of the park in search of the Big Five and other wildlife. During the Great Migration season (July to September), witness the awe-inspiring movement of wildebeest and zebras crossing the Mara River. Alternatively, you may opt for a morning and afternoon game drive with lunch back at the lodge. Later in the day, you have the option to visit a nearby Maasai village for a cultural experience at a small additional cost. Dinner and overnight at Emayian Luxury Camp.

Day 5: Masai Mara – Return to Nairobi – Departure

Approximately 290km – Drive time: ~7 hours (depending on traffic)
Enjoy breakfast and check out from the camp. Begin your journey back to Nairobi, with scenic views of Kenya’s countryside. Time permitting, stop for lunch en route or in Nairobi. For those who prefer less travel time, you may opt for a scheduled flight from Masai Mara to Nairobi Wilson Airport at an extra cost. Once in the city, our Twende Tours guide will drop you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international flight. Thank you for choosing Twende Tours — we hope to welcome you again soon!
