Your full-day coastal adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Watamu, Malindi, or nearby areas. After a brief drive, you’ll arrive at the entry point of the Watamu Marine National Park, one of East Africa’s most pristine and protected coral reef zones.
You’ll board a glass bottom boat, offering a clear view of the vibrant underwater world below. As you cruise over colorful coral gardens, your marine guide will help you identify tropical fish, sea stars, and other marine life. You’ll also stop at ideal snorkeling spots where you can dive in to swim among angelfish, parrotfish, and even green sea turtles if lucky.
Midday, your captain will anchor near the scenic sandbanks or a quiet beach cove where you can enjoy a Swahili-style seafood lunch, freshly prepared and served by the crew (optional upgrade). Vegetarian options are available with prior request. Relax, sunbathe, or take a dip in the warm Indian Ocean waters.
In the afternoon, enjoy a second round of snorkeling or a leisurely cruise back to shore while watching for dolphins (seasonal). After returning to land, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel by late afternoon, bringing your marine safari with Twende Tours to a close.
