DAY 1: NAIROBI TO LAKE NAIVASHA
Depart Nairobi in the morning and enjoy a scenic drive along the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Stop at the Rift Valley Viewpoint to take in the breathtaking landscape. Proceed to Lake Naivasha for a peaceful boat ride on the freshwater lake and a guided walking safari on Crescent Island among giraffes, antelope, and zebras. Optional visit to Hell’s Gate National Park for cycling or hiking through the dramatic gorges. Check-in at your lodge, relax, and enjoy dinner by the lakeside.
DAY 2: LAKE NAIVASHA TO LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru, famed for its flamingos and rich wildlife. Enjoy a game drive through the park with a chance to spot rhinos, lions, leopards, and buffalo. Visit Baboon Cliff for panoramic views of the lake. Enjoy lunch and a relaxed afternoon at your lodge or take a nature walk within the park’s forested zones. Overnight stay at a lodge inside or near the park.
DAY 3: NAKURU TO KERICHO TEA HIGHLANDS
Depart for the lush highlands of Kericho, Kenya’s tea capital. En route, pass scenic valleys and rural settlements. On arrival, tour the tea plantations and visit a tea processing factory to learn about Kenya’s tea culture. Enjoy a peaceful walk among the rolling hills and visit local cultural centers to learn about the Kipsigis people. Dinner and overnight in a quiet countryside lodge.
DAY 4: KERICHO TO KISUMU CITY (LAKE VICTORIA)
Depart Kericho and head west to Kisumu, Kenya’s third-largest city and gateway to Lake Victoria. Visit the Kisumu Impala Sanctuary, take a traditional boat ride at Dunga Beach, and enjoy fresh fish by the lakeside. Explore the Kisumu Museum and visit the legendary Kit Mikayi Rock, a sacred cultural site of the Luo community. Evening relaxation and dinner at your lakeside hotel.
DAY 5: KISUMU TO NAIROBI
After breakfast, start the return journey to Nairobi with scenic stops en route via Londiani, Mau Summit, and Gilgil. Optional lunch stop in Naivasha or Nakuru. Arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon marking the end of the Rift Valley exploration adventure.
